Progress Report for the Fiscal year 2069/2070

Forum for the Welfare of Himalayan Children (FWHC) was established in 1995 A.D with the main aim of supporting children for their basic needs like food, education, training, health and shelter. A German NGO named Freundeskreis Nepalhilfe e.V. has been supporting Nepal and its underprivileged children through the local counterpart i.e. FWHC since 1996. Forum for the Welfare of Himalayan Children, is registered under the government regulation to carry out all its activities. FWHC has its own Children’s Village with the facility of children’s house, health Post, Library, office building in bhakunde, nearby Pame Bazaar. Besides, we also try to help people to develop necessary infrastructure in the remote villages as and when needed. As per the objectives set during the Project Agreement between Social Welfare Council, Freundeskreis Nepalhilfe e.V & Forum for the Welfare of Himalayam Children following activities had been carried out during this fiscal year.


1. Operation of children Village:

http://www.nepalhilfe.de/pics/childrens_village2.jpgWe had 80 children in children’s village who were provided with food, shelter, education, and trainings. During the beginning of this fiscal year 9 orphan, needy and poor children were admitted in children’s village. All the children are well taken care of by house mothers. Each of the four houses has two house mothers to take care of the children and provide them with healthy, nutritious food. We have a health Assistant to look after the health and hygiene of the children. The presence of teacher in children’s village has helped the children with their education.

All the children go to school for schooling and building up their academic career.  4 children’s from the association appeared for School Leaving Certificate level examination. One of them passed with Distinction marks, 2 with First Division and 1 with 2nd Division marks. All of them now go to college for their education with the support of the association.

Computers are added to meet the growing number of children. We have the facility of internet in the computer lab in children’s village as well as in youth hostel.

http://www.nepalhilfe.de/pics/childrens_village2.jpgChildren’s Village has also children with learning difficulties, therefore, Association has decided to create its own space for those children with learning difficulties. Therefore, it has started to build a block in the Children’s Village premises to provide better atmosphere to train such children.


Besides education, children’s are also provided with drama, sports, martial art & musical and other basic trainings.

Scholarship & Apprenticeship:



Through scholarship and apprenticeship program, we aim to support more children and youth towards building up their career and making them self reliant.

Scholarship is provided to children who successfully pass SLC from children’s village.
Each children who pass SLC living in the association gets Rs.5,500 per month for their higher education for the period of 3 years.

Scholarship is provided to different individuals through school from the poor & under privileged background. 20 children from different school are benefited from this facility.
Computers for a School at Singdi Village in Pas Gaon VDC, Lamjung District.

As one of the aim of FWHC to help to develop necessary infra structure in the villages of Nepal. This time FWHC had help to purchase computers for a school in Singdi village.


Organize health camps & trainings:
Similarly, we had organized computer and tailoring trainings to the staff members as well as to the villagers in bhakunde.
