Carpet/Furniture Protectors

Submersion Hand wash Cleaning Process for Oriental Rugs and Carpets For Oriental rugs with animal stains and odors, Global Carpet and Upholstery Care is proud to be an exclusive provider of the submersion handwash cleaning process. Here are the step-by-step details of this innovative new procedure:

Step 1. Dusting.

Dust and particulate matter lying deep within the rug are removed using compressed air and specially designed tools. Foot traffic and dry soil can act like sandpaper on the fiber, and this step is often referred to as “air washing” or “dusting” of the rug. Vacuuming, shaking, or beating are not nearly as effective.

Step 2. Wash and Rinse.

In many of the various countries where our oriental rugs and carpets are manufactured, the washing is done in a flowing river, where rugs are submerged for hours at a time. Our process essentially replicates this method with a wash pit in which water moves from one end to the other continuously. Mild cleaning agents designed specifically for Oriental rug fibers like silk and wool are massaged deeply into the rug. Unlike a simple bath, our process continuously sends only clean, soft water across the rug.

Step 3. Final Rinse.

The rug is removed from the pit and given a soft water rinse.

Step 4. Drying.

Mild heat and airflow is applied as the rug hangs to dry. Using compressed air, the fibers are given a luxurious fluffing.

Step 5. Grooming the Fringes.

Attention to detail is essential at this stage, so we hand-comb your rug?s fringes to ensure that they are properly finished and groomed.

Step 6. Final Inspection.

We maintain the highest standards, so our inspection process is thorough. We don?t hesitate to repeat any steps that might be necessary to provide you with the cleanest rug possible. It’s that final touch that means so much.

After a water damage, it is natural for a person to want to begin the cleaning of their home or business. While timely action can be a great help, it is also true that incorrect or delayed action can jeopardize or seriously impede satisfactory restoration. In fact, the wrong action can make restoration more difficult and can greatly delay the timeliness of achieving the best results possible.

In the event of a water damage, do the followings :

  • Stay calm! Call Global Carpet and Upholstery Care.
  • Make sure the water source is turned off. This will help contain the damage.
  • Turn off the breaker in the damaged area before you unplug or remove any electrical devices located on the wet carpet.
  • Place aluminum foil under the legs of any furniture which is in contact with wet carpet. This might help prevent furniture stains on your carpet.
  • Lift up draperies away from wet carpet.
  • Pin up upholstered furniture skirts which may get wet.
  • Remove books, shoes, paper goods, fabrics, potted plants, and other items which may stain wet carpet.

Do not attempt the followings :

  • Don’t use your home vacuum, since electrical shock may result, as well as certain damage to the equipment itself.
  • Don’t place newspaper in traffic areas to walk on, since newspaper ink transfers easily to the wet carpet fibers and may result in permanent staining.
  • Don’t walk on carpet any more than necessary. This will keep the damage from spreading to unaffected areas.
