Medical Coding and Billing is designed to prepare students for employment as Coders and Billers in physician’s offices, ambulatory centers health care organization and insurance companies. The objective of the Medical Coding and Billing Specialist program is to prepare students with the appropriate didactic theory and hands-on skills required and necessary, for the processing, reporting, security, and management of health information, within the health care setting. This includes, but is not limited to, structure and analysis of health data, coding, indexing, retention and reimbursement systems, data abstracting, file analysis and management, health care statistics, health record evaluation, computer systems, anatomy and physiology, and Pathophysiology.
Training for Students in Medical Coding and Billing; the use of Universal, Standardized Codes, Medical Claims and Medical Billing.
This program emphasizes all aspects of the traditional Nursing Assistant program including Home Health Care plus Advance Nursing Assistant skills, thus allowing the student to qualify as a Patient Care Assistant. The program emphasizes Phlebotomy Techniques and EKG Monitoring Techniques, allowing the student a certificate as an EKG Monitoring Technician, and as a phlebotomy Technician. The program emphasizes specimen Collection, Infection Control, and the professionalism and confidentiality requirements of the profession. Upon completion of all course work, the student receives a Diploma as a Patient Care Technician, and is then ready to sit for the Nursing Assistant State Exam.
Program includes training students for the medical environment; One-on-One Coaching and Classroom sessions in working with other care professionals such as doctors, nurses, therapists, etc.
The Pharmacy Technician program provides students with the technical and practical training necessary for work as an assistant to a licensed pharmacist in a variety of health system settings, including pharmacy chains, hospitals, and skilled-care facilities. Students will examine pharmacy computing, medication preparation, inventory, billing, and quality customer service care. The student acquires the knowledge in preparation of medications, intravenous mixtures, drugs and their side effects.

Upon completion of the Mental Health Technician Program, the student will be able to identify the 4 phases of a crisis, identify the 4 steps in crisis intervention. Describe alcoholism, alcohol withdrawal syndrome and treatment of alcoholism. Describe the effects of substance abuse disorders on the family. List the factors to be identified in the potential suicidal client. Discuss interventional techniques for suicidal client.

This program entails reviewing the equipment, proper procedures for venipunture, specimen collection and handling procedures, and complications of phlebotomy. Students in this program will practice drawing blood, the safe use of needles and other equipment, proper processing of specimens and safety precautions.
Formal Training in collecting blood samples from patients for transfusion or testing.
This practice and review session is an intensive study of all aspects of Basic Patient Care procedures, medical terminology, care of the adult patient, nutrition, fluid intake and balance, moving, lifting, and transferring procedures, etc.
