Adonis established himself with Swal- lowfield FC in the President’s Cup and then represented the Mountainview FC team when they were the 1988 Minor League champions. He captained Camperdown High School and led them to victory in the Walker Cup Championship in 1988. He was also selected to the All-Manning squad. Adonis Maxwell was known as the “Destroyer” as he combined quickness with excellent all-round skills to earn selection to the Jamaica National team as a teenager (18). A consistent scorer, Adonis was a lethal shooter with either foot and was considered a complete player.
He also played for several teams including Arnett Gardens, Marverly and Hazard in the National Premier League (NPL). Adonis migrated to the United States in 1991.
