AIR PURIFIERS by AIREOX

LIVING HEALTHY

When you think about your health,
think about the air you might be breathing!

1. The Air You Breathe

While most people are aware that outdoor air pollution can damage their health, many do not know that indoor air pollutants can also do the same. The problems they cause can be subtle and do not always produce easily recognized or immediate impacts on health. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says indoor air pollution is among the top five environmental health risks.

There are many sources of indoor air pollution in any home. These include: building materials and furnishings, wet or damp carpet, cabinetry or furniture made of certain pressed wood products that release a toxic chemical known as formaldehyde, household cleaning products, air fresheners such as sprays and plug ins, and some types of hobbies. Also poorly working heaters, furnaces or other fuel burning appliances can release harmful carbon monoxide gas.

You can also be exposed to Benzene which is known to cause cancer. Benzene is among the 20 most widely used chemicals in the United States. It is used mainly as a starting material in making other chemicals, including plastics, lubricants, rubbers, dyes, detergents, drugs, and pesticides.

The main way people are exposed is by breathing in air containing benzene. People can be exposed to benzene in the environment from gasoline fumes, automobile exhaust, emissions from some factories, glues, solvents, paints, and art supplies. These are the most common ways.

2. Eating Right

Fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals. They are low in fat and sodium, but high in fiber, which helps flush away toxins from your body. The nutrients you gain from fresh foods are more easily absorbed in the bloodstream and quickly converted into energy.

Grains, especially whole grains, are an essential part of a healthy diet. All types of grains are good sources of complex carbohydrates and some key vitamins and minerals. Grains are also naturally low in fat. All of this makes grains a healthy option.

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that at least half of all the grains you eat are whole grains. Chances are you eat lots of grains already. But are they whole grains? If you're like most people, you're not getting enough whole grains in your diet.

3. Exercising

Regular exercise is necessary for good health. It reduces the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases. Exercise involves continuous and rhythmic physical motion, such as walking and bicycling, hiking or swimming. As your conditioning, improves, your heart rate and breathing rate returns to resting levels much sooner. Exercise is also a key to weight control because it burns calories. If you burn off more calories than you take in, you lose weight. Being consistent is probably the most important factor in achieving desired results. Exercise reduces stress, lifts moods, and helps you sleep better. It can keep you looking younger and feeling better.
