Korean red ginseng has been used in traditional Chinese medicine as an overall wellness supplement for centuries. It’s been used to:

boost the immune system

The root is said to resemble the human body. Instead of arms and legs, it has shoots. This resemblance is thought to be the reason that traditional herbalists considered ginseng a full-body treatment. Today, research is showing just how effective ginseng is as a natural remedy.

It is also used for agitation, trouble sleeping related to high blood pressure, nervousness, ongoing mental and physical fatigue (neurasthenia), poor memory or forgetfulness, skin cancer; and as a tonic in herbal medicine today, catuaba is considered a central nervous system stimulant with aphrodisiac properties. Cinnamon Bark

Many of cinnamon bark's nutritional and medicinal benefits relate to its potent antioxidant capacity. Antioxidants are compounds that protect living cells against the damage associated with free radicals -- highly reactive oxygen molecules produced in response to pollution, poor diet, cigarette smoke and stress. One study, published in 2009 in the "Journal of the American College of Nutrition," demonstrated that overweight people experienced less free radical damage while taking cinnamon supplements. By blocking the effects of free radicals, antioxidants such as cinnamon may help to prevent cardiovascular disease and certain forms of cancer.

Niacin has a wide range of uses in the body, helping functions in the digestive system, skin and nervous system. Niacin, a name coined from nicotinic acid vitamin, comes in several forms, including niacinamide (nicotinamide) and inositol hexanicotinate. Each of these forms has various uses as well.
Food sources of niacin include yeast, meat, fish, milk, eggs, nuts, green vegetables, beans and enriched breads and cereals. The human body can also make niacin from the amino acid tryptophan, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
    .

    Benefits of Niacin

Like other B vitamins, niacin helps the body break down carbohydrates, fats and proteins into energy, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. In addition, it plays a role in gland and liver function. "Niacin has a role in producing certain hormones in the adrenal glands and helps remove harmful chemicals from the liver," Dr. Sherry Ross, women's health expert at Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, told Live Science.
Niacin also can play a part in improving health. According to NIH, it is also used for treating migraine headaches, circulation problems and dizziness, and to reduce the diarrhea associated with cholera

Tribulus terrestris is a small leafy plant. It’s also known as puncture vine, Gokshura, caltrop and goat’s head (1). It grows in many places, including parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East (2Trusted Source).
Both the root and fruit of the plant have been used medicinally in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurveda medicine (3Trusted Source).
Traditionally, people have used this plant for a variety of potential effects, including to enhance libido, keep the urinary tract healthy and reduce swelling (3Trusted Source).Today, Tribulus terrestris is widely used as a general health supplement, as well as in supplements that claim to increase testosterone levels (4Trusted Source).

It May Affect Heart Health and Blood Sugar

Although people often take Tribulus terrestris for its potential effects on sexual function and testosterone, it has also been studied for other important effects.
One study examined the effects of taking 1,000 mg of Tribulus terrestris per day in 98 women with type 2 diabetes.

After three months, women taking the supplement experienced lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, compared to those who took a placebo (5Trusted Source).

    Tribulus Terrestris May Enhance Libido

Even though this supplement may not increase testosterone, it may boost libido.

    Wild yams

Some believe that wild yam may help treat symptoms of menopause and rheumatoid arthritis. The bulb and roots of wild yams contain a chemical called diosgenin, which can influence the production of several useful hormones in humans, such as estrogen or dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). Consuming wild yam may be a natural way of promoting these hormones in the body, which could have certain medical benefits.

Some of the potential medical uses of wild yam include:

    Rheumatoid arthritis

Some traditional medicine practitioners believe that wild yam has anti-inflammatory properties and use it to treat rheumatoid arthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic condition that causes inflammation of the joints. This can cause pain and stiffness that restricts mobility in people with the condition.
It is possible that wild yam might reduce this inflammation and have a positive effect on symptoms,

    Blood sugar regulation

Wild yam also contains a chemical called dioscoretine, which some people think helps with the regulation of blood sugar levels. Wild yam could be useful in regulating blood sugar levels in people with diabetes.

    Cramps and muscular pain

Other proponents of wild yam, believe that it has anti-spasmodic properties, which are substances that reduce muscle spasms. This anti-spasmodic property means that wild yam might be useful for reducing cramps and muscular pain related to premenstrual syndrome (PMS), for example.

    Panax Ginseng

Panax ginseng, also known as Korean ginseng, is an herb that has been used for various health purposes. It should not be confused with other forms of ginseng.

Panax ginseng is a plant that grows in Korea, China, and Siberia. It's considered an adaptogen, which are natural substances that are believed to stimulate the body's resistance to stressors. Panax ginseng contains many active chemicals. The most important are called ginsenosides or panaxosides.

Panax ginseng is taken by mouth for memory and thinking skills, Alzheimer disease, depression, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support many of these uses.

Don't confuse Panax ginseng with other plants sometimes referred to as ginseng like American ginseng, Blue Cohosh, Canaigre, Codonopsis, Eleuthero, or Panax Notoginseng. These are different plants with different effects.

How does it work ? Uses & Effectiveness ?

Possibly Effective for Memory and thinking skills (cognitive function). Taking Panax ginseng by mouth might improve thinking, arithmetic skills, and reaction times in healthy, middle-aged people but not in young adults. Taking panax ginseng alone doesn't seem to help memory, but taking it with ginkgo leaf extract seems to improve memory in healthy people between the ages of 38 and 66.

Erectile dysfunction (ED). Taking Panax ginseng by mouth seems to improve sexual function in adults with ED.
Flu (influenza). Taking a specific Panax ginseng extract by mouth appears to reduce the risk of getting a cold or the flu. But it doesn't seem to reduce flu symptoms or the length of the illness.
Fatigue in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Taking Panax ginseng by mouth daily for 3 months reduces feelings of tiredness and improves quality of life in females with MS. Increasing response to sexual stimuli in healthy people. Taking Panax ginseng alone or with other ingredients by mouth seems to improve sexual arousal and satisfaction in postmenopausal adults. It also seems to improve sexual desire in females who report sexual problems.
