This rehabilitation was a very complicated project that was successfully completed on time and at the bid price. It involved the execution of multiple tasks, utilizing multiple contractors at the same time in a restricted work environment for over two years. Our extensive renovation skills helped in the renovation with least amount of disturbance to the existing structure and interior layout of the building: implemented management methods for access control in restricted areas, risk minimization and management where demolition was involved, special planning to match the existing finishes and seamless integration with existing structure.
The renovation of the District of Columbia Jail is an ongoing renovation encompassing renovation work in 504,000 square feet facility on a 594,300 square feet parcel. Dynamic technical staff performed the architectural, electrical and mechanical designs for the project. Consultants were utilized to perform the structural design/ analysis, laboratory analysis and other specialty consultants during the design and construction of the project. The project was procured as a series of tasks consisting of the following work scopes:

Kitchen Renovation
This task involved the demolition of all floor substructures finishes, ceilings, Duct/HVAC, asbestos floor tiles, plaster and elbow joints, major rehabilitation/replacement of plumbing fixtures, mechanical and electrical systems, flooring, ceiling and other finishes.

Armory Building
The task involved the design of the high security armory building for the D.C Jail. The construction involved blast proof armory room as well as installation of explosion proof electrical fittings. The doors also meet high security standards. Special heat detectors and fire alarm systems added to cater for armory environment.

CCTV
A state of the art CCTV system is installed consisting of over 150 fixed 25 PTZ cameras. This is a total digital system with 25 servers connected in a network. Extensive use of fiber optic technology has ensured high communication bandwidth. The entire installation is tamper proof and vandal resistant. This project was featured on the television as one of the high-tech project being completed by the Department of Corrections.

Fire Alarm System
The existing fire alarm system is completely replaced by a current digital fire alarm system with panels at three levels. The system consists of over 1000 sensors located in the 18 wings of the correctional facility spread over 400,000 square feet.
Compliance: The project was performed in accordance with the with the DCRA, BOCA and other applicable laws and guidelines pertaining to new office building construction.
Subcontracting Goals. Dynamic Corporation has a strong track record of utilizing MBE/ WBE and SDB for it project. We were able to provide subcontracting 38% to SDB. Safety and Security: The contract was performed on schedule and in accordance with the original project schedule and the schedule of values. There was no accident nor does security breach at this much secured project site. Dynamic staff performed this project as a Design Builder and was able to work in a businesslike and responsive to the clients need. This is the first time that a minority firm can perform this type of work under Design/ Build Contract.

DESIGN FOR VEHICLE INSPECTION/ BLAST CONTROL FACILITY

The team of Dynamic Corporation designed Blast Control, Under Vehicle Inspection Facility, Canine Kernels, Mechanical, Hydraulic systems, HVAC biological and chemical filtration systems, Public Announcement Systems.

Parking spaces, exterior lighting, both interior and exterior Closed Circuit Television Systems, 10 Work Stations, 5 Offices and a Drive Thru Window, HVAC, electrical and telecommunication system/ LAN systems.

DESIGN FOR VISITOR CONTROL CENTER

The team of Dynamic Corporation designed a new Visitor Control Center – 12,000 SF document processing center.

The facility provides for approximately 100 car Parking spaces, exterior lighting, both interior and exterior Closed Circuit Television Systems, 10 Work Stations, 5 Offices and a Drive Thru Window, HVAC, electrical and telecommunication system/ LAN systems. Public Announcement Systems.

DESIGN/BUILD FEDERAL CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION

M.C. Dean, Inc. is providing its design/build services for the construction of new medium security federal prison. The 440,000 square foot, 13-building, 850-bed correctional facility campus in Petersburg, Virginia. This is a fast-track project, and the design/build method was chosen due to the federal mandate to produce the facility by May of 2003. M.C. Dean, Inc. is subcontracting to Hensel Phelps.

The project was performed in compliance with the electrical, security, safety requirement for Maximum security prisons. M.C. Dean, Inc. is responsible for the design and construction of the electrical, communications and electronic security systems involved in this new construction.
