Toddler Program

This program serves 18 months to 2 ½ years of age. Our teachers emphasize Individual care in a nurturing environment. Our teacher’s goals for their children are for them to develop a healthy self esteem, exhibit social skills, enjoy reading and to create a fun, safe and enriching environment Some of the favorite themes in the Toddler program include body parts colors, nutrition, five senses.

Reading, Language and Literacy (Story-Time, Guided Reading)

Reading readiness and language arts are taught not as separate subjects but as an integral part of the entire day. Reading activities enhance children’sVocabulary and comprehension skills and also expand their knowledge base.Emphasis is placed on name recognition, print awareness, and an introduction to letter recognition and sounds. Classroom writing activities support the reading-writing connection.

Library

We promote an appreciation for literature and a life-long love of reading. We explore traditional literature (folk and fairy tales, nursery rhymes) and difference between fiction and nonfiction.

Mathematics

The math curriculum in Pre-Kindergarten is designed to introduce children to the basic mathematical concepts. These concepts are presented visually as well as through hands-on and interactive activities. The areas of study include shape and number recognition, one to one correspondence, sorting and classifying, patterning, and measurement. Math is incorporated through daily activities, and all children are encouraged to explore and investigate mathematical ideas through manipulatives and teacher-directed activities.

Art and Music

Our art curriculum gives children an understanding of other cultures, encourages creativity and imagination, and is an aid in small motor development. Music promotes children’s listening skill, creative expression and social skills.

Computer

The Pre-Kindergarten computer program is designed to help students see computers as familiar learning and working tools. Pre-Kindergarteners become familiar with terms such as computer, mouse, mouse pad, keyboard, and click, double click, and enter, and learn to open and navigate educational programs.

Science

The science program takes place both in the classroom and outside the classroom. We discover and explore weather and seasonal changes, our 5 senses, life cycles, dinosaurs, nutrition, our earth and water play. Outdoor nature path activities complement and augment the science content of the classroom, as well. Language arts and math are incorporated into these units as well. The students explore their world through hands-on experiential activities that nurture their curiosity and lead to student-driven experiments.

Spanish

The students are exposed to greetings, numbers to 30, colors, food, and so must more! We sing many songs, recite poems, play games, and do fun activities.

Blocks

Playing with blocks gives children experience with many different concepts, such as, shape and size discrimination, number skills, balance, organization, cause and effect and classification.

Gross Motor Development (Indoor/Outdoor)

We provide children with activities that will have them use their muscles- as well as their imaginations.

Summer Program

We provide a variety of stimulating, fun and Happy learning experiences in a safe, caring and loving environment.
