About The Inventor

My name is John DiLorenzo. I graduated from York College in 1996 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. In 1999, I pursued my Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at Queens College of New York. My passion for the field of Occupational Therapy inspired me to continue my education even further and I earned my Certified Hand Therapist degree in 2004.

Currently, I am the Owner and Director of Rehab of Precision Rehab Occupational, Physical & Hand Therapy P.L.L.C located in the Queens/Long Island and New York metro area. I work closely with some of the top Orthopedic/Hand surgeons in this region. Recently, I joined the faculty at York College, as an adjunct professor lecturing a course on hand therapy and conducting splinting labs. I also was an adjunct professor at Long Island University lecturing numerous courses on orthopedics and splinting labs. After having a Rotator Cuff injury myself, I personally experienced the challenges involved in the therapy and healing process. Furthermore, I developed a device in order to aid patients in strengthening Rotator Cuff injuries. However, this device has limited use in some clinics and is not mass-produced.

Over the past several years, I have been widely treating flexor/extensor tendon repairs. Consequently, I have been creating more and more dynamic splints to aid the patient in full or partial recovery. As a Certified Hand Therapist, specializing in Hand Therapy, I am aware that dynamic splints can be very expensive, time consuming and materials can be lacking and not readily available to the therapist when needed.

After doing some research on my own, I realized that I was receiving optimal results when utilizing four-finger protocols for Flexor Tendon Repairs. This resulted in less swelling and tendon adhesions and stronger tensile strength of the hand. I became inspired and developed another proto-type to aid patients with this condition. Currently, I use the Dilotrax for numerous protocols including Extensor tendon injuries and Radial/PIN Palsy. I strongly agree that the Best way to treat Tendon repairs is to use all protocols which may be Passive, Active, Dynamic, Synergist and Controlled motion to achieve optimal results. Every single patient or surgery should be treated accordingly. Each case will present with different issues and concerns. Since then, I have received considerable positive feedback from many surgeons and physicians alike. Given my trial success, the DiLoTrax Device was developed. Please review the Testimonials page to see what patients, therapists, doctors and surgeons have to say about the DiLoTrax Device.
