Ms. Nicola Williams is the owner and director of Paradise Housing Inc. located in Westchester New York. Nicola Williams is a Registered Nurse who migrated to the United States from her native Jamaica. As a child the first of three children Nicola admired her mom for being respite to a few, some were her peers who needed help at some point in time. She would house, feed and clothed them until their parents and or guardian was able to again, care for them.
Nicola, being the first child would assume the role of caring for both her brothers that followed her, especially the youngest Casey. At a very young age she also saw her mother, two aunts and one uncle care for their father who was ailing from end stage lung cancer. It was December of 1981 when my maternal grandfather was brought back home by his common law spouse of ten years, who stated he is very sick and I can no longer take care of him. This was a blow to my grandfather who was very sad because he grew up in a time when his children were not required to render personal cares. He lost it. He had a lot of pride and did not want his children to bathe him. He echoed daily that he was sorry to put them through this, meanwhile they were happy to care for him but did not have has much time, because at this point they all had their families of their own to care for. He allowed the neighbor to bathe him (deemed a stranger). His pride would not allow him to make his children render intimate personal cares. His adult/grown children fed and cared for him up until his passing February 1982.
