This job was to replace a cooling tower right next to a parking structure and the fact that Tower Tech has a drift rate of only 0.0004% compared to the metal towers with the fans up top that have a drift of 0.002% to 0.005%. Tower Tech has less than 10% of the drift that metal towers do with the fans up top and with this location next to the parking structure, that makes a huge difference on not having chemically treated drift bring damage to the metal and paint on the cars in the structure. There is no sunlight exposure to the condenser water with Tower Tech and that also lowers chemical treatment required by 35-40%.
The VAF Filtration Unit was also used on this job. It is a true filtration unit with a 50 micron screen that filters everything that size or larger and is self-flushing. Whether what is being filtered is heavier or lighter than water makes no difference to VAF, which is not true for the centrifugal separators that call themselves filtration units.
