I have had pleasure of working and creating in the architectural proffession for over 50 years, including planning, design of mixed-use complexes, commercial and corporate office projects, research and manufacturing facilities destination resorts, receational facilities and municipal projects, major residential complexes, and luxury residential estates.
i was born and educated in hawai'i,and feel my early background in construction helps me to integrate a pratical approach to all my projects while still developing a beautiful and harmonious architectural result..my move to califonia in 1963 provided the opportunity to establish tarayao architects aia in a strategic location, completed projects to date in asia, latin america, and throught the u.s.
I begin every project, both residential and commercial, with an extensive personal survey to help me understand the objectives and the feeling the client hopes to achieve in the final design. My goal is to make the design reflect your vision, not mine.

FIRM HISTORY
Tarayao Architects A.I.A. Ltd. is a remarkable architectural firm diverse in both experience
and talent. The firm provides architecture, planning, interior design and project
management for its clients.
Founded in 1975, TA is experienced in all facets of architecture. Over the years, the firm and
its principals have come to be recognized for their leadership in the profession and service
within the community.
Under my direction, a program was initiated at Corona del Mar High School, training students
in the use of CADD systems with the goal of encouraging students to consider careers in
architecture. Additionally I served as a scoutmaster of Troop 746 for eighteen years. I have
spent the last eleven years coaching Eagle Scout candidates in architectural oriented
projects.

The firm's staff, assisted by the latest design technology, serves clients ranging from large corporations and national developers to individual users. TA provides a full scope of architectural, planning, landscape architecture and interior design services from early program development to final design documents and then through completion of construction administration.
TA STRUCTURE
TA is an innovative firm, constantly looking for creative solutions to design challenges. "For
example, in the Narcissus Three project, the client requested identical floor plans, but
individual exteriors. Each home was uniquely designed to display a strong individual flavor
while blending harmoniously as a whole." The firm's staff of design professionals are involved in
every facet of the project, from its initial concept through completion. The philosophy
employed by TA encourages input, allowing every member of the team to personally identify
with the project.
We involve the Principal throughout the project, from its inception through completion. Other
team members are activated as the program develops; planners, designers, engineers,
production staff, specification writers, construction experts. Our staff allows us the flexibility to
focus manpower at the critical scheduling milestones of each project. We also have the full
support functions of project management.
Technology plays a major role in assisting the firm. While still in its infancy in 1979, TA was the first small firm in Orange County to implement a CADD system. TA has since grown and now the latest computer-aided technology is employed providing each client with the service they deserve.
