John DiLorenzo, M.S, OTR/L, CHT

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
John has been a leader in his profession for many years and has extensive knowledge in treating all upper extremity conditions. As a member of The American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT), he has a passion for treating all shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand and finger injuries. John received his Bachelor’s degree from York College in Occupational Therapy in 1996. From there, he went on to receive his Masters Degree in Science Education with a specialty in Cardiac Rehab & Exercise Physiology. He has worked as a Certified Exercise Specialist, Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, and Health Fitness Instructor at some recognized local facilities. Since then, he has accumulated 20+ years experience treating upper extremities, including supervision and clinical training of all the Occupational and Physical therapists as a Director of Occupational /Hand Therapy. In 2004, he continued his training and received the specialized title of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).  He has developed numerous Occupational and Hand therapy clinics in the Metropolitan area. He also has had hands on work experience with some leading doctors & surgeons in the area.  He was an expert consultant for 10 years concerning Malpractice lawsuits against doctors and therapists alike. Most recently, in 2014, John was the first Occupational Therapist to patent & develop a specialized dynamic orthosis device for numerous hand conditions called, DiLoTrax (please visit www.DILOTRAX.com for more information).
His professional teaching background includes: adjunct professor at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) for Hand Therapy and Upper Extremity lectures including assistant adjunct for Physical Disabilities; he currently teaches as an adjunct professor lecture in Orthopedics/Orthotics at Long Island University (LIU) and as of 2015 he was the first adjunct professor at York College who developed the first elective class for Hand & Upper Extremity Rehab.For the past five years John has enjoyed coaching for the Nassau County Youth Football League (NCYFL). He has extensive coaching experience with Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) basketball leagues in the Queens and Nassau area. In addition, he has given lectures to numerous elementary/high schools on youth sports training and protection on joints and proper stretching techniques.


 

Paul Frlic M.S, OTR/L, M.E.S
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Paul received his Bachelor of Science and Masters in Occupational Therapy from the New York Institute of Technology with a specialization in Hand Therapy. Paul has experience working in acute care hospitals, sub-acute nursing homes, and home health facilities. Paul also has extensive expertise in clinical practice and patient care. Paul has been advancing and has been receiving additional training in shoulder, elbow, and wrist. As a member of The American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT), he is committed to increase his knowledge and has attended numerous Surgery and Hand lectures. He has worked in various top hand Facilities in the Metropolitan and Long Island area. He has trained with John DiLorenzo for 2 years and is committed to further his knowledge in the Hand and Upper extremity conditions. Paul is committed to providing each patient with the best, most effective, evidence-based interventions available. He is dedicated to improving and enhancing the quality of life for his patients. In addition, he is a personal trainer with a Specialty as a Medical Exercise Specialists focusing on individuals with injuries and providing proper nutrition along with cardio and resistive exercise. He has provided numerous exercise programs for the elderly and youth population.
Jose Jonathan ("JJ") Cancino, RPT
LICENSED PHYSICAL THERAPIST
JJ graduated with honors from the University of Perpetual Help Philippines with a Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy. He began his career at Florida Hospital after passing the boards in the United States in 1996. Since that time he has worked in different clinical settings including hospitals (acute/sub-acute and rehab), outpatient orthopedic, nursing homes, and skilled nursing facilities in Sebring, Lake Placid, and Wauchula, Florida. He has a passion for helping people return to their full movement function and activity goals and he seeks to encourage his patients to become self-dependent. Throughout his 15+ years of experience he has attained clinical expertise in utilizing manual therapy techniques working with a variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, including low back pain, neck pain, shoulder dysfunction, osteoporosis, and arthritis. He also has a strong background in Wound Care and Aqua Therapy.
JJ has completed continuing education in many areas including:

Rotator cuff syndrome from impingement to post-operative rehabilitation
