NATARAJ ODISSI KALAMANDIR AND KRISHNAVENI PUTREVU

Our school Nataraj Odissi Kalamandir has been the brain child of KrishnaveniPutrevu.
Krishnasri Putrevu has been trained in the Odissi dance style of Padmashree Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra by Guru Sri Naba Kishore Mishra at the age of 8. She is from Andhra Pradesh but was brought up in Orissa, which is how she got exposed to Odissi dance.
She has earned her degree in Odissi Dance from Lalit Kala Academy, in Allahabad, India, and also from Chandigarh University. She has performed widely and has received lots of critical acclaim for her award winning performances all over India and abroad. She established a foundation in Dallas in December 2004. Her goal has always been to promote and foster interest in Odissi Dance here in the United States. She is an active performer and choreographer. As a member of UNESCO cultural exchange program she was an anchor, cultural secretary, as well as a performer and conducted workshops in the Naddrud College and other schools in Oslo, Norway. Her students have been performing actively in the Dallas metroplex over the last 8 years.
Her journey includes performances at all the events organized by the major cultural and religious organizations of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex as well as several fund raising events.
