My dream to establish Mates Electric began as a seed back in 1981 in communist Romania, where I began my career as a 19-year-old electrician, working for a large manufacturing plant. The seed began to sprout once I was able to escape to the U.S., finally free to pursue my American dream of starting my own company.

Since then, I’ve been blessed to involve my sons and even sons-in-law in this work, making my passion for the electrical trade, a family affair. It’s what I’ve done all my life and it’s one of the most important things I’ve invested into future generations. As such, we take great pride in the work we produce and it’s why we choose to use our family name, Mates, to represent our company and the quality of our work.
