An annual soil test will be performed at the start of a new program. Analyzed and utilized as the part of your customized program.
An important cultural practice improving air flow to the root zone, helps control thatch aiding in reduced disease and insect problems. Reduces compaction creating growth pockets allowing new, healthier and stronger root growth. Opens a new path for nutrients and water to the root zone.
An application of manure, fertilizer, combination of sand soil and compost to the surface layer of existing soil or turf. The blend is tailored to each site, but often contains mostly compost.
Top dressing with Compost significantly increases soil’s nutrient levels, water retention, improves the overall soil structure, stimulates micro-organisms helping defend disease, breaks down unnecessary thatch, and neutralizes the soil’s pH. One of the best, natural, slow-releasing soil amendments, containing everything turf needs to thrive and aid in new seed germination.
Mow turf to a height of 2” an ideal height for top dressing. Core aerate and over seed, fill Top Dresser hopper with compost or a compost blend. Apply compost at a rate of 1 cubic yard over 2,000 ft sq for maintenance and a rate of 1 cubic yard over 1,000 ft sq for Lawn renovations. Water turf the next 5 days.
High quality screened compost is best! The compost must have a fine crumbly structure and a homogenous texture. It must be well-screened and have a high content of stable organic matter. Finally, but not least of all, it must be weed-seed free. For efficient and easy application, the compost moisture should be maintained at around 50%.
Broadleaf weeds and grassy weeds are fighting for the same space. They’re aggressive and even the thickest healthiest lawns are prone to infestation. We offer selective target control without harming your lawn.
Weeds are simply a plant in the wrong place. We use organic and traditional methods to prevent and control weeds in driveways, footpaths and service areas and unwanted vegetation on your property.
Fungus diseases are some of the most damaging, difficult lawn pests to detect and diagnose. Often the disease has claimed visible dead patches and damage which can be aesthetically unacceptable and more challenging to correct. Often high humidity, moisture, drought, excessive fertilizer and compaction are the causes. Spread by foot, water, and air, these diseases need to be treated promptly and monitored. As the protected turf grows and is mowed, follow up treatments may be required depending upon weather conditions.
Preventive applications are effective treatments to minimize lawn disease and fungi as well as to prevent them.
Surface insects and grubs are out of sight and out mind. However, they can cause severe damage if left untreated. With a proper Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program most of these pests are avoided. We have the expertise to evaluate curative and preventive management treatments.
Included in our custom packages. Grass seed types and blends are constantly improving year after year becoming more drought tolerant as well as disease and insect tolerant. We use the highest quality seed blends and decide which blend is best for specific property areas. We generally power-seed (slice seeds into soil) or seed after core aeration.
