Bridgeport High School located at 1 Gibson Road In Portmore St.Catherine was founded in September 27th, 1978. In the year of 1991 the school went from being a secondary school to a comprehensive high when they received their first batch of common entrance students. Bridgeport Was then reclassified to a High school in September 2000. The sunshine school won their first school boy football (manning cup) in the year of 2001 and continued to be a force for years to come. They won again in 2006. Bridgeport High School has always been a part of the Manning cup quarter finals consistently for seven (7) years.
The sunshine city school produced quite a few talented players over the years. Players like Andre Steel , Jamiel hardware, Darren Mattocks, Kenardo Forbes, Adrian King and O’Neil Thompson who then went pro with their careers. Bridgeport High school produced other local players like Roger Bucknor, Dwayne Taylor , Adoah Nickle and Kemar Philpot. Bridgeport otherwise known as Portmores finest , Color Red always seem to do their community proud since the birth of the school in 1978.
Jamiel Hardware born March 1992 in Kingston Jamaica, began his school boy football career at the Bridgeport High School in 2004. In the year of 2007 he debuted in the Issa School boy football (Manning cup) where he played 4 successful years.He then began his professional career in Jamaica where he played in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) representing the Boy’s Town Football club. After completing 2 seasons with Boy’s Town he went off to St.Louis Missouri where he represented Jefferson College . In 2012 Jamiel Hardware was signed with Motala AIF Division 2 (Sweden) to continue playing the remainder of the season. He was then signed to Harrisburg City Islanders where he played in the United Soccer League (USL) in 2013-2014. In 2015-2016 he then signed with St.Louis FC (USL). Jamiel Hardware then went back to Jamaica where he continued playing in the Jamaica premier league.
