Dear Football Fans,
Welcome to the 2023 Jamaica All Schools Football Tournament. Our tournament will feature some of our well-known and exciting players from the 1970's, 80's, 90's and 2000's.This year we have added some international flavors to the tournament. Ballaz Football Academy U12 Boys from Kingston, Jamaica, led by Andre Virtue, will be playing in a mini tournament against Griffin Boys U12, Central Brooklyn Boys U12, and Bronx Albanian Boys U12, for the Griffin Cup. A Jamaica U19 Schoolboy Select team will also travel to play against a Griffin Football Club U19 team for the Griffin Shield.
The featured teams are, Defending U45 Champions Calabar High School, and Over45 Champions St. George's College. Returning to the competition are former champions Charlie Smith High School, led by captain Eugene 'Mutt' Barnes, DaCosta Cup kingpins Cornwall Collegeand 2014 DaCosta Cup champions St. Elizabeth Technical.
Clarendon College, William Knibb, Herbert Morrison Technical, Bridgeport High School, Dunoon Technical High, Wolmer's Boys and Edwin Allen, will also be seeking their first lien on the coveted Jamaica Alumni Football Tournament (JAFT) Championship trophy. The tournament is completed by three-time Champions Camperdown, former Champions Jamaica College, Kingston College, St Andrew Technical, Munro College, Excelsior High School and Dinthill Technical High School.
This year, we will once again feature two divisions, Over 45 Masters and Under 45 Open. On Saturday, June 24, at 7:00pm, there will be a memorial game for former St. Anderw Technical player Milton 'Bumpy' Harris. Greenwich Pumas Masters from Connecticut will play Griffin Masters from the Bronx, Harris’ former teams.
On Championship Sunday, June 25, there will be a ladies penalty shootout prior to the All Manning vs All DaCosta Masters’ game.
Special awards will be presented to four individuals for their years of outstanding service in football, in Jamaica and the Diaspora. The awardees are, Coaches Frank Brown (EXLCR), Jerome Waite (Charlie Smith), and Trevor Ellington (Unity-Bronx & EDSL Leagues), and Christopher Zadie of St. George’s College & Columbia University. The Championship game is scheduled to be played at approximately 8:00pm.
We strive to run an efficient, fair and quality tournament. we are asking all managers, coaches, players, and fans to be on your best behavior while in the public space and to observe all health-related protocols at this time.
