Program Description

The program length is 450 hours. It is divided into 5 units, from the intro to Mental Health to Clinical Applications and documentation. Other course breakdowns are addendum that range from Baker Act to Crisis Management.

Objective

Upon completion of the Mental Health Technician Program, the student will be able to identify the 4 phases of a crisis, identify the 4 steps in crisis intervention. Describe alcoholism, alcohol withdrawal syndrome and treatment of alcoholism. Describe the effects of substance abuse disorders on the family. List the factors to be identified in the potential suicidal client. Discuss interventional procedures for suicidal patient.
